S-TYPE - RUSS BALLARD TRIBUTE
Our forth and final replica of Russ Ballard's distinctive workhorse guitar.
Russ Ballard was one of the most prolific songwriters both with Argent, his own recordings and so many recorded by other artists.
I was fortunate to get access to the great man's guitar and was able to make accurate detailed plans of the shaping and the layout of the holes.
The first of the replicas was made for a friend of Russ' and Russ has played it onstage many times, leaving the original safely at homeĀ

- Alder body with comfort contours
- body is a classic doublecut bolt on design modified as per the mods his own guitar had
Neck
- quartersawn maple neck
- Rosewood fingerboard ā 25.5ā scale length
- Jim Dunlop 6155 gauge frets
- Mother of Pearl Dots and side dots
- Earvana Compensated Tuning Nut
- Guitar is more in-tune with itself
- medium 60s profile
- neck is fixed with threaded inserts and machine bolts for greater tonal transfer
